Samanza Hussain is a London-based Bangladeshi–Burmese pianist whose work spans solo performance, chamber music and cross–disciplinary collaboration.
She is currently completing the Advanced Professional Diploma programme at the Royal Academy of Music under Joanna MacGregor CBE, supported by The Anjuli and Raj Rao Family Scholarship.
Prior to this, she graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with First Class Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Fali Pavri, Petras Geniušas and Sinae Lee, supported by the RCS Scholarship and the Macintyre Music Scholarship.
A versatile performer, Samanza maintains an active career as both a soloist and chamber musician. She has given solo recitals at Organum Concert Hall and the Samuel Bak Museum in Lithuania, as well as at venues across London, Madeira, Bangladesh and Scotland. Her repertoire reflects a particular interest in overlooked and lesser-performed works.
In 2025, Samanza made her concerto debut with the Glasgow Orchestral Society, performing Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2 at the RSNO New Auditorium in Glasgow. The same year, her piano trio won First Prize in the Dunbar–Gerber Chamber Music Competition. She was Highly Commended at the Edinburgh Concerto Festival in 2024 and was a semifinalist in the Cambridge International Piano Competition in 2026.
She has worked with musicians including Steven Osborne, Petras Geniušas, Mūza Rubackytė, Danny Driver, Makoto Ozone, Artur Pizarro, Robert Andres and Stephen Coombs. She has also studied free and classical improvisation with Anto Pett and David Dolan.
Alongside her performance career, Samanza has undertaken a range of studio recording projects, including piano performances for ABRSM examination repertoire, an upcoming feature film, and an alternative folk album. Her academic background also includes a degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of St Andrews.
